Scot is a shareholder attorney with Shinners & Cook and focuses on business law, real estate development, estate planning, probate, and litigation in those areas.  He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and his J.D., with cum laude honors, from the Notre Dame Law School. While at Notre Dame, Scot was an editor with the Journal of Legislation and clerked during summers for the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan in Flint, MI, the Michigan Supreme Court in Lansing, MI, and Thurn Law. After graduating from Notre Dame Law School, Scot clerked with the Michigan Court of Appeals in Grand Rapids, MI. In 2014, Scot began practicing with Shinners & Cook.

Scot has been a past president of the Saginaw Chamber Young Professionals Network and Trinity Lutheran Church in Midland, MI.  Scot currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Frankenmuth Credit Union and Chair of the Saginaw Economic Development Corporation.  He is also a member of the Saginaw Bar Association, Midland Bar Association, Saginaw Club, and Fordney Club.  Scot enjoys reading, puzzles, traveling around the country and spending time at his cottage near Charlevoix.
